College of The Albemarle’s Small Business Center

ECSU’s Small Business & Technology Development Center
SBTDC is an interinstitutional program serving North Carolina's small business community. Elizabeth City State University's SBTDC offers help with technology development and commercialization, high-quality educational programs and services, first-rate publications and business resources, and strong advocacy on behalf of small businesses. Northeastern Workforce Development Board
The Northeastern Workforce Development Board offers Incumbent Workforce (IWG) and On-the-Job-Training (OJT) grants to eligible businesses. IWG allows business to receive up to $25,000 in a year with a $40,000 lifetime maximum to upgrade the skills of current workers. OJT pays 50% of a newly hired employee's salary for up to six months. Area businesses that have taken advantage of IWG include:

North Carolina Military Business Center
The North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) is a collaborative effort between North Carolina business and industry and the North Carolina Community College System. With satellite locations at Craven Community College, Coastal Carolina Community College and Wayne Community College, the NCMBC works through the 53 Small Business Centers at the other Community Colleges across the state to provide services.
