City of Elizabeth City Electric Rate Schedule

Applicability

This schedule is available to any nonresidential Customer. This schedule is not for resale, breakdown or parallel operation.

Type of Service

The City of Elizabeth City will normally supply the equipment necessary and will deliver to the Customer through one meter at one delivery point mutually satisfactory to the City and the Customer, 60 cycle alternating current electricity of the phase and voltage desired by the Customer, provided electricity of the phase and voltage desired by the Customer is available generally in the area in which service is desired.

Rates

Monthly charges will be calculated as follows:
Basic Facilities Charge:
  • $18.12 per month

  • Demand Charge:
  • No charge for the first 30 KW of billing demand
  • $16.40 per KW for all over 30 KW of billing demand

  • Energy Charge:
  • 10.12 cents per KWH for the first 3,000 KWH
  • 5.23 cents per KWH for all over 3,000 KWH

  • Energy Adjustment Rider:
  • 5% increase in kilowatt charge
  • (The rider is a temporary rate adjustment and will be discontinued when removed from the City's electric rates.)

    Determination of Billing Demand

    The demand for billing purposes each month shall be the highest average KW measured in any 30-minute interval during the month. The City will install a permanent demand meter when the average monthly consumption of the Customer exceeds 3,000 KWH for any six-month period.

    Sales Tax and Purchase Cost Adjustment

    To the above charges will be added any applicable North Carolina Sales Tax and Purchase Cost Adjustment.
